Liverpool is fighting with Tottenham for a top-5 finish this season. A win for West Brom could have them almost clear from relegation.

Brendan Rodgers still has time to somewhat save his ship called "Liverpool" from a complete wreck when they head into the Midlands to take on West Bromwich in a game that means much more to the visiting side. Without the FA Cup in sight anymore, finishing in the top-5 is the consolation prize for The Reds.

That is still on the wire with Tottenham sharing the same amount of points as Liverpool (57), and where the only difference is the goal differential that favors Rodgers' side. Liverpool has won its two last Premier League games, but has lost three out of its last five overall matches, including its latest against Aston Villa.

Rodgers has been in charge of Liverpool for quite a while now

The Reds don't have any suspended players heading into this game, but some are injured and that will make the manager have to work with an alternative plan. Daniel Sturridge is out with a bruised hip and Lucas has been feeling pain in his thigh. It is also unlikely that Sakho will suit up for this one with an injured hamstring.

Lately, Liverpool strikers have not been on fire as expected. In their last nine games they have not scored more than twice and received up to four when they played Arsenal at the Emirates in London. Sterling is their leading scorer with seven goals this season.

On the other side, West Bromwich comes into the game in the same form as its upcoming rival. They see this game as a good chance to make a Liverpool's chances of a decent finish be almost impossible. A win for them could give them a 99% chance of avoiding relegation, and that's all they are fighting for this season.

Mulumbu is the only player suspended ahead of this game but will be available for the next one. Both Foster and Dawson are on the injured list for West Brom.

Head to Head numbers give an advantage to Liverpool

Tony Pulis knows that even with a win, they would not move up the table, but a loss would give Newcastle the chance of stepping over and moving into 13th place. They control their own destiny for now, but before the season is over, they still have to play Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.

In the end, for Saturday's game both teams will enter in similar conditions, but the reasons to go after the three points are a bit different. With no clear favorite, we can predict this should be a very close game.
