Tipped with a Santiago Bernabeu exit, the Welshman’s recent comments looks to put an end to rumors linking him with a switch to Manchester United.

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has come out and publicly put to rest rumors of a possible Santiago Bernabeu exit, claiming to be “happy” at Los Blancos.

Despite paying a world-record fee of £85.3m to sing the Welsh star from English Premier League side Tottenham last season on a six-year deal, rumors have continuously been linking the 25-year-old attacker with a departure from Real Madrid, with Manchester United believed to be leading the race for the former Spurs ace.

The Red Devils are reportedly prepared to spend big to land the Real Madrid star, with even some rumors suggesting that Bale is ready to listen to offers.

However, after recently winning the FIFA Club World Cup with Carlo Ancelotti’s side, scoring in the 2-0 win over San Lorenzo in the finals on Saturday, Bale has expressed his joy at “playing for the best team in the world”.

He said: "I was really looking forward to playing in this Club World Cup. It has been an incredible year for us, we hope to keep winning titles.

"It is impressive to travel and around the world and see the way the fans welcome us. We are very grateful for that. I am happy to be playing for the best team in the world. It is an incredible feeling and I am also proud to represent Wales. I hope that 2015 goes well."
