The Citizens keep their Premier League hopes alive with this result, holding the third position in the competition, just one point behind Southampton.

Manchester City struggled, but Manuel Pellegrini's men managed to earn three points in today's matchup against Swansea City. With this result, the Sky Blues keep their third spot this season, shortening Southampton's lead in second place to just one point.

The Citizens started the game trying to get the ball to Sergio Aguero, but were not able to feed the Argentinian striker. The game was just starting to get some rhythm, when Swansea City took an early lead, having Wilfred Bony scoring for the white team after eight minutes of playing time. Knowing that they could not afford leaving behind any more points in their home turf, Manchester City fought back and managed to equalize the game with a right footed strike by Stevan Jovetic. The Citizens almost scored a second goal before the half ended, but Gael Clichy's strike from outside the box was denied by Lukas Fabianski...with a little help from his post.

After the break, Manchester City increased their pressure over the visitors, but were not able to score until the 69th minute, when Yaya Toure put to good use a beautiful back heel by Fernandinho. Swansea even enjoyed some chances to tie the game, but time ran out on them and the score did not change.

Manchester City have 24 points so far, while Swansea keeps falling in the standings after a magnificent start.
