The Mexican wingman returned from the International break and got injured when this day's training session was finishing.

Mexican midfielder Giovani Dos Santos did not finish this day's training session with Villarreal due to a groin injury. This will prevent Villarreal's number 9 of playing next Sunday's match against Getafe. Club sources indicated the player left the pitch after hitting a ball with his left leg. Dos Santos was sent to the hospital to determine the damage to his groin.

Villarreal's coach Marcelino García Toral hopes the player's recovery can be quick, since the next weeks are packed with games.

"We hope it's nothing serious. It will be a setback, because Giovani is one of our key players, and not having him around in the next few weeks could be bad for us. We have a tight schedule ahead and we need every player available," the coach said.

Added to Dos Santos' absence, Villarreal will also be missing captain Bruno Soriano, who also came down with an injury after playing with Spain, along with Nigerian striker Uche, who has not returned from his international duties with his National Team.
