One of football's legends may end up playing away from where it all started for him. Steven Gerrard, Liverpool's captain and one of the few players to spend his whole career with one side, was dubious about his near future with the Reds.
"I am going to play this season and the next. I still don't know where I'm going to do so. We'll have to see if I can play with Liverpool or somewhere else. They will decide, and if I can't keep on playing here, we'll have to see what options we have out there," Gerrard answered in an interview.
Gerrard also criticized FIFA for letting Luis Suarez out of the race for the Ballon D'Or. The English midfielder suspects their decision responds to other interests away from footbal..
"He scored 31 goals and was voted the best player in one of the toughest leagues in the world. Why was he snubbed? Luis should have been nominated with Cristiano Ronaldo, it's unbelievable they left him out. But that's what happens when you mix politics and football," Gerrard added.
Liverpool's captain also praised Cristiano Ronaldo's skills, stating he has never seen a player "improve as much as he has".
