During a promotional event with children, Real Madrid's goalkeeper shared the team's objectives for the rest of the year.

After winning El Clasico on Saturday, Real Madrid's goalie Iker Casillas revealed his wishes for the rest of the year, which would include a good run in the Club World Cup and leading La Liga's standings before Christmas break.

"Our aim is what we've wanted from the start of the season. We need to try and top the league by Christmas. We took an important step in getting there by beating Barcelona, but that's not the end of the road. We have to secure our place in the Champions League Round of 16, and then, have a great Club World Cup, it would cap an amazing year for all of us. It's a tournament we are very interested in playing," Casillas told the audience.

Honest about the team's current performances, Casillas stated topping last year's accomplishments will be extremely difficult, especially since winning the UEFA Champions League was something that became rather obsessive for everyone.

"I felt relieved because we had been aiming to win it for ages. Real Madrid had gone 12 years without lifting this club's favorite trophy. When we finally managed it, winning after such a long and nail-biting wait made our celebrations that much more special. It will be hard to repeat, but if we get in top shape to the crucial part of the season, we can try to do so," Casillas added.

Casillas told the audience that he would like to remain linked to football but not in an office. He would like to coach young kids, "where my experience with great coaches and players could be passed on," he concluded.
