The first Manchester Derby of the 2014/15 English Premier League season takes place at the Etihad Stadium. Here’s where to watch Manchester City vs Manchester United live on November 2, 2014.

Manuel Pellegrini is under pressure to elevate Manchester City following Wednesday’s shocking 2-0 loss against Newcastle United in the Capital One Cup. Last season’s great achievements are gone and focusing on the current campaign – in Europe as well as domestically – seems hard for the Citizens.

Before tempers explode, Pellegrini must find this special something to boost the spirit of the fans and the trust of his players. That special something could be found this Sunday, in front of a hungry home crowd, against the Barclays Premier League’s most successful club, Manchester United.

City are chasing two major morale-boosting points: the first one is to beat their eternal city rivals while the second one is to close the gap on league leaders Chelsea. Achieving both would offer the Citizens immense relief ahead of next week’s crucial UEFA Champions League match against Russian outfit CSKA Moskva at home.

However, the Red Devils are prepared to frustrate Sunday’s hosts. With no European football this season and being already out of the League Cup, Manchester United have an advantage over most of their opponents when it comes to the fatigue factor. Unfortunately for Louis van Gaal, he has to deal with a pile of injuries.

The good news for Man United supporters is that Wayne Rooney is back from suspension while Radamel Falcao is fit again to feature in the Manchester Derby. Along with Robin van Persie, whose last-minute equalizer against Chelsea last weekend caused an earthquake in the English press, none of these strikers are anywhere near Sergio Aguero in the EPL topscorers chart.

The Argentine forward has netted nine goals. In contrast, captain Wayne Rooney has three in six appearances, on-loan Colombian star Falcao has one in four, and Dutch international RVP has three in eight games. In other words, Aguero has more goals (9) than Man United’s three front men combined (7).

Between them, Manchester United and Manchester City have scored 35 goals and conceded as many as 23 already! So fasten your seatbelts. We could be in for a storm of goals at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday!
