Throughout the ages, Real Madrid and Barcelona have staged epic battles. Some of the world's greatest players are depicted in this collection of historic images.

History has told us that Real Madrid and Barcelona have held matches that lasted through the ages. With Barcelona dominating their first matches, Real Madrid started getting top quality players, being able to fight for Spanish dominance against Los Culés.

Los Blancos dominated through the 50's and the 60's with Alfredo Di Stefano leading the pack. During the 70's, Johan Cruyff returned the pride to Catalunya, with one of Barcelona's most remembered teams, and establishing what would become Spain's most dominant team in years to come. During the 80's, Real Madrid dominated La Liga, but their historic rivals usually had things going their way in their head-to-head games.

Following Barcelona's Dream Team, Real Madrid established a dominance in Spain's big game until the arrival of Louis Van Gaal, who earned back-to-back trophies for los Blaugranas. During the most recent decade, Barcelona fought back and established an equilibrium in this historic rivalry, capping their dominance with their historic 2009, where Barcelona won every single competition they played.

Diego Armando Maradona, Gary Lineker, Ivan Zamorano, Raul Gonzalez, Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo, and many more created a legacy that keeps this game as the most televised matchup in football nowadays. El Clasico represents a great tradition, and with players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi leading these two teams, its legacy and relevance around the world will never be doubted.
