White Hart Lane will host the Tottenham vs Besiktas match on Thursday, the 2nd of October in a Europa League encounter.

The English side was involved in a fierce derby as they held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw at the Emirates but will now be looking for maximum points at the expense of their Turkish opposition especially after a disappointing stalemate against Partizan last time out.

Tottenham started the season well under the tutelage of new manager Mauricio Pochettino winning their first four matches including their play-off fixtures against AEL. However the North London side has been very unimpressive lately managing just a single win in the last six matches they have played.

Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor has been under intense scrutiny after managing to score just once since the beginning of the season, but his manager Mauricio Pochettino believes that the former Man City man will soon produce the kind of performances which are expected from him.

"I believe in Adebayor," he said.

"We know always a striker maybe has some period of difficulty to score but he has made a lot of effort for the team. The more important thing is we are convinced that he or another team-mate can arrive at the possibility to score. I am happy with his performance."

"He knows he needs to score because a striker always lives to score but I believe in him and have no problem."

Besiktas on the other hand were unlucky to get just a single point out of their last Europa League match against Asteras Tripolis when Facundo Parra's late goal resulted in the match ending in a draw.

The Black Eagles were unable to create an impression in their last outing either as their match with Eskisehirspor on Saturday ended in a 1-1 draw.

The two sides have met only once in the past which was back in the 2006/2007 season when goals from Hossam Ghaly and Dimitar Berbatov gave Spurs a 2-0 victory in a Europa League tie.

Tottenham will be without both their first choice full backs with Kyle Walker unavailable for selection after his surgery whereas Danny Rose is unfit after being withdrawn in the match against Arsenal.
Beskitas on the other hand might have to do without Mustafa Pektemek for Thursday's match after the 26 year old picked a knock in the match against Tripolis.
