The Italian venue will host the Final match for the second time under the current format, after hosting 2001's game between Bayern and Valencia.

For the fourth time ever, the city of Milan will host the Final match for the UEFA Champions League. The decision was made at tonight's UEFA Executive Committee meeting held in Nyon, Switzerland, as informed by the organization's wesbite.

The stadium, which opened its doors in 1926, is home for both Milan-based clubs, AC Milan and FC Internazionale, being able to seat 80, 000 fans. Before the Champions League format, it hosted the final matches for the then called "Champions Cup" in 1965 and 1970. Under the current format, the stadium also known as Giusseppe Meazza -when Inter play their home games- hosted the 2001 final, which saw Bayern Munich win the trophy against Valencia.

After this announcement, the Executive Committee informed the venues for the UEFA Europa League Final in 2016, which will be held at Basel's St.Jakob Park, while the 2016 UEFA Super Cup match will be held in the city of Trondheim, Norway.
