The New York Red Bulls will face their fourth match in 10 days when they travel to Canada to play against Montreal Impact at Saputo Stadium on Wednesday evening.

This will be the first of two matches that the Impact and the Red Bulls will play against each other in the CONCACAF Champions League group stages. The Montreal side currently leads Group 3 with six points from two matches while the New York club has three points after a comfortable 2-0 win against Salvadorian side C.D. FAS on August 26th.

The New York Red Bulls have managed to get seven out of nine points possible in their last three matches but this achievement seems to have affected the players in terms of physical performance.

"I’m exhausted," Red Bulls goalkeeper Luis Robles said after a 2-2 draw against Philadelphia Union on Saturday. "I looked at the guys around the 70th minute and I was just praying that we had enough to finish it off.”

The Red Bulls have been in impressive form in recent weeks with Thierry Henry among the top assisting leaders in the MLS and Bradley Wright Phillips as the league’s current top goalscorer with 21 goals. Head coach Mike Petke had his word ahead of their CONCACAF Champions League clash.

"Wednesday’s game could be a lot of guys getting an opportunity," the manager said.  "There’s six games left in MLS and they’re all important.  Champions League is very important as well, but we’re going to do what’s right for the club."

On the other hand, the arrival of Ignacio Piatti to Montreal a couple of weeks ago, has proved positive for the Canadian side, as the Argentinian has made a good connection with fellow striker Marco Di Vaio. Both of them have scored four goals in six games across all competitions.
