Manchester United will be looking for their first win of the season when they face newly promoted side Burnley at the Turf Moor on Saturday, the 30th of August.

The season has begun on a disappointing note for the Red Devils with the most successful side in the country yet to register a competitive win this season. United failed to record a win in their first two league matches slumping to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Swansea and following it with a draw against Sunderland.

However their worst outing came in midweek when the Red Devils suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of League One side MK Dons. However the spirits at the club will have been lifted by the signing of former Real Madrid star Angel Di Maria who has been signed for a British record €75 million.

The Argentine international was signed after intense speculation but ultimately chose the Old Trafford as his destination. Man United manager Van Gaal confirmed that the 26 year old will be making his first appearance in a United shirt on Saturday but claimed that his compatriot Marcos Rojo will not be able to make his competitive debut yet with the Argentinean still looking to sort his work permit issues.

"Rojo is working on his permit because he has to go abroad for that," Van Gaal explained to the press.

"The difference between fellow new signing Angel Di Maria and Rojo is that he has an Italian passport and Rojo does not.

"He only has an Argentine passport. Now he is abroad in Madrid to work it out at the embassy but it takes more time than we expected."

The injury crisis at Man United will continue this weekend with the Red Devils set to be without midfielders Herrera, Fellaini and Carrick. Summer signing Luke Shaw has been ruled out of Saturday’s game as well along with defenders Smalling and Rafael. Japanese international Shinji Kagawa suffered concussion in the match against MK Dons and is a doubt for the Burnely match.

Sam Vokes will be the only absentee for Burnely as the Welsh international continues to nurse his knee injury. Many of the players who were rested in the match against Sheffield Wednesday are expected to return to the side for the big match against United.
