This is the second home fixture confirmed by the US Soccer Federation for the upcoming FIFA international match dates.

US soccer fans will have the chance to see the national team playing at home soil twice in a period of four days as the USMNT will host Honduras in Boca Raton, Florida on October 14th. The US Soccer Federation confirmed the news via its official website on Friday. The USMNT will also host Ecuador on October 10th in East Hartford, Connecticut.

Honduras played in the last World Cup in Brazil but they lost all of their group stages matches against France, Ecuador and Switzerland. On the other hand, the USMNT managed to reach the Round of 16 but they dramatically lost against Belgium in extra time. The last time these teams faced each other was in 2013 and the United States got a 3-1 win.

US head coach Jurgen Klinsmann commented on the fixture:

“Honduras has proved that they are one of the top teams in CONCACAF.”

“As we begin our preparation for the Gold Cup, this is a great opportunity for our players to see the type of opponent they will face next summer. We continue to find huge support around the country, so it’s exciting to bring the Men’s National Team to a place it’s never played before. We are looking forward to a great crowd at FAU Stadium.”
