During an interview with a TV station, Cristiano Ronaldo stated he wants to give up football when he’s 36 years old, although he can reconsider.

After receiving the UEFA Player of the Year award, Cristiano Ronaldo shared his thoughts in an interview with a TV Station. Notably, he questioned why FIFA awarded Lionel Messi with the Golden Ball during the tournament in Brazil.

“Everybody saw what happened; you have to analyze all situations and have a say about it. I can’t be honest on the matter, because if I shared my thoughts I’d have to be thrown in jail,” Ronaldo jokingly expressed. “It would be interesting to know how he feels about it, but as I said before, I can’t respond honestly to that.”

Ronaldo went on talking about Messi, establishing there is no relationship whatsoever between them.

“I’ve never considered him to be my opponent. When we attend this type of ceremonies we have a very professional relationship, we speak politely to each other,” Real Madrid’s striker explained.

The Portuguese star talked about his future, mentioning he would love to retire while playing for Real Madrid, although he would consider hanging his boots playing for Manchester United or Sporting Lisbon.
