Olic's great effort was not enough to save his team from defeat. Malanda let go a clear chance to get the equalizer.

The 2014-15 German Bundesliga kicked off as expected, with Bayern Munich taking all the three points in their home debut against Wolfsburg. The squad managed by Pep Guardiola experienced a tough second half but at the end they managed to get their first victory of the season.

The first half was a classic display from Bayern in terms of ball posession and game control. The Munich side kept the ball on their feet for most of the time and they managed to create plenty of chances but it was not until the 37th minute when Bayern took the lead via a Thomas Muller nice right-footed shot from close range.

Just two minutes after the second half kicked off, Arjen Robben gave his team a 2-0 advantage with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner. After that, things started to complicate for Bayern Munich.

In the 52nd minute former Bayern player Ivica Olic scored an impressive goal for Wolfsburg after he fired a left-footed shot that Manuel Neuer couldn’t reach and the ball ended in the top left corner leaving the scoreline 2-1.

In the 79th minute, Junior Malanda couldn’t have a better chance to get the equalizer but he incredibly missed an open goal tap-in.
