Welbeck hasn’t been consistent enough for United’s requirements, leaving Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney as Louis Van Gaal’s top choices to start.

Following several reports, Manchester United may have determined Danny Welbeck’s immediate future. The English international is most likely leaving United, apparently to a club not fighting for the top Premier League spots.

United coach Louis Van Gaal responded questions about the player’s future, giving no hint of a possible departure:

“I know what I said to Danny and Danny knows exactly what I said to him,” Van Gaal said, when asked about the decision. “I assume that Danny Welbeck is not saying anything about our conversation and also in that conversation was Ryan Giggs and he doesn’t say either, and that is the way it should be,” Van Gaal stated.

According to rumors, Hull City would have offered 20 million pounds to sign Welbeck, but the player is not comfortable with that sort of move. Arsenal and Tottenham would likely be interested in having the striker, but Manchester may deny the transfer to a top flight English team.

If Welbeck left the club, possibilities for the Red Devils include keeping Mexican striker Javier Hernandez and promoting 18-year old James Wilson, who scored two goals in his debut last season against Hull City.
