Former Auxerre coach Guy Roux feels that the Brazilian and PSG captain's performances have been going downhill since earlier this year.

Despite being rated as one of the best center backs in the world, Brazilian captain Thiago Silva still has his fair share of critics.

The PSG star, who also serves as captain of Les Parisiens was unable to participate in his team's semi-final clash with Germany due to suspension, and as a result the hosts were subject to a 7-1 humiliation, the joint-worst loss in their history.

And despite being able to play against the Netherlands in the consolation match for third place, he again, was unable to have much of an impact as the Oranje cruised past them 3-0.

The former Rossoneri man's performances haven't gone unnoticed by the likes of former French coach Guy Roux, who slated the 29-year-old as losing his focus and tactical nous in the heart of his team's back-line.

"Thiago Silva has been worrying [me] since March," he stated to France Football.

"But, we were told then that he was saving himself for the World Cup, [so] after seeing his performances in Brazil, I hope he was actually saving his best for Ligue 1.

"When I see a player at this level commit such errors, whether it be facing Colombia or the Netherlands, my first instinct is to wonder if something serious happened in his life."

Obviously PSG fans will be hoping for him to re find his form ahead of the team's upcoming season as they hope to retain their Ligue 1 crown and push to go further in the Champions League.
