Mauricio Pochettino will look to make changes in this friendly as he adjusts to life as Spurs manager.

Pochettino has already seen that Spurs like to entertain; they did so in their previous friendly as they scored three goals but also conceded three against Seattle Sounders in a wonderful football exhibition. He was surely satisfied to see Roberto Soldado and Lewis Holtby get on the score sheet. Soldado of course was the bargain who did not work out. He always produced his best in a Valencia shirt in Spain but just could not adjust in England. Under Pochettino, he might be able to do so.

Holtby was part of a very successful Schalke team; he fit in perfectly there and started most games. He was supposed to be one of the bright young stars of the Premier League. However, he became an also-ran. Holtby's loan spell at Fulham showed promise and he has returned to Spurs to fulfill the initial promise. However, Holtby perhaps was not given the chance to shine at Spurs previously.

The German is still only 23 years of age. His love for England and his attachment for the nation (he is half-English) brought him to the Premier League. He might regret his decision if he has another frustrating season for Spurs. His manager has been relatively quiet in the transfer market. May be the man who got the best out of Southampton's fleet-footed stars might be able to influence Holtby to produce his best and use him wisely.

Pochettino will have to focus on his team's defense as well. Spurs conceded a hatful of goals one too many times last season; a good title challenge is built on a good defense. Pochettino is surely aware of this. This is his time to figure out the right blend of defending and attacking. Toronto FC should provide the English side with plenty to think about.

Overall, this game promises to provide more entertainment before the actual entertainment kicks off in August.
