It was a good text!

England forward and skipper Harry Kane has revealed the content of his club manager Mauricio Pochettino’s message after his nation’s triumph over Tunisia in their opening group game at the World Cup. The 25-year-old talisman was the star of the encounter as he opened the scoring for the Three Lions and subsequently sealed the 2-1 win with a late header after their Africa opponents had equalized from the penalty spot.

Perceptibly continuing in his impressive goalscoring form for Tottenham last season, Kane received a congratulatory message from Mauricio Pochetino who will once again count on the forward to deliver for Spurs when the regular league season resumes.

"Poch sent me a text message with lots of love hearts emojis and he wrote: 'Come on, England!'" Kane declared after the match.

"He is rooting for us. He has a lot of lads in the squad. I get on very well with him. He is my boss, the manager, but he is a friend as well.

"You can see he wants me and the team to do well. It is nice to have that kind of relationship with him."

Harry Kane is currently a goal behind Cristiano Ronaldo (3) and Denis Cherysev (3) on the World Cup’s topscorer’s leaderboard and will hope to increase his tally when England takes on Panama in their second group game on Sunday.
