Match Preview

Poland and Senegal will hope they can hit the ground running with both finding themselves in one of the most competitive groups at this year's World Cup. Their clash will take place after Colombia and Japan feature in Group H's curtain raiser.

Led by Aliou Cisse, Senegal will aim for a World Cup campaign similar to the one in 2002 when they made their debut on the world stage. The 42-year-old manager captained the side that went on to reach the quarter-finals at Japan-Korea. And coming into this summer's competition, there is enough talent under his supervision to attempt the feat.

Senegal enters the upcoming clash in good form having managed just one loss in their last 12 appearances across all competitions. With a strong defensive set-up led by Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly, the Teranga Lions conceded just once in their last four friendlies. With the likes of Sadio Mane, Keita and Sow set to feature in their attack, Poland will certainly have a lot on their plates to deal with.

Nevertheless, Adam Nawalka will be far from a side that could easily be pushed around coming into Tuesday's fixture. The 60-year-old manager led his side through an impressive qualification campaign topping their group which had the likes of Denmark and Romania after recording 8 out of 10 wins.

The domineering campaign of the Polish was mostly due to the presence of the prolific Robert Lewandowski in the side. The Bayern Munich forward single-handedly contributed a total of 16 goals to the cause. He is once again expected to find his scoring boot although his task might be slightly harder against a bullish Senegalese side this time around.

Nonetheless, his side will hope that the three-game unbeaten run will be enough of a booster coming up against a side that is optimistic about getting Africa's first win at Russia 2018.
