According to Deloitte's annual report, five spots of the top ten belong to clubs from the English Premier League.

Manchester United retained their spot as the most expensive club in the world by a narrow margin, as Real Madrid closed the gap between themselves and the English titans to unsuspected heights.

The ranking, measuring the 2016-17 season, takes under consideration each team's income from three sources: Matchday (including trophies won and bonuses) commercial income and TV rights.

English Premier League teams dominate the ranking, with ten out of the 20 spots in the report going to EPL sides. Machester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool earned a spot in the Top 10 clubs.

Real Madrid and Barcelona completed the podium, with Los Blancos overtaking Los Blaugranas from the 2015-16 ranking. In fact, Manchester United claimed the top spot in this ranking by the narrowest margin ever, as the Red Devils topped the charts with $832M , while Real Madrid racked up $829M.
